Rock Circle: Megalith

A land-art installation according to a precise definition, involving the impact of the surface on the shape of the structure.

The circle is defined by an equal distance between each rock and a fixed point on the ground, as measured by a rope laying on the ground in a straight direction.

Ground Deformation

In the case of an uneven surface, the rocks will appear as being closer to the centre.
However, if a toy truck was to drive from the centre to each of the rocks on the perimeter, it would always measure the same distance.

Flat Surface

In the case of a flat surface, the distance through the air would be the same as the distance measured over the ground.

The rock-installation would look closer to an ideal circle.
